Welcome to FaithLock. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use the FaithLock mobile application ("App") available on iOS. FaithLock is a spiritual screen-time management app that requires completing a faith-based action — such as reading a Bible verse, praying, or engaging in AI-guided devotional — in order to unlock selected apps on your device.
By downloading or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
FaithLock is developed and operated as a spiritual wellness application. For privacy inquiries, please contact us at: support@faithlock.app
We collect only the minimum data necessary to operate the App and comply with Apple App Store guidelines.
Name and email address: Used to create your account, authenticate you, and send essential communications such as password resets and support responses.
AI conversation history and prayer sessions: When you interact with our AI devotional assistant (powered by Groq), the content of those conversations may be stored in your account to provide continuity and personalized suggestions. This data is never used to train third-party AI models.
Onboarding responses: Your answers during onboarding (e.g., denomination, spiritual goals) are stored to personalize your experience and are never shared or sold.
FaithLock uses Apple's Family Controls framework (Screen Time API) to apply shields to apps you choose to block. Critically, we never learn the identity of the apps you block. Apple's privacy model provides us only with opaque, irreversible tokens — we cannot and do not access your app names, bundle identifiers, or usage patterns on any server. All blocking data remains locally on your device.
Streaks, unlock history, and session data: We track the number of prayers completed, streak days, and unlock sessions (without app identity) to power your spiritual journey dashboard. This data is stored in your account on our servers.
Crash reports and errors: We collect anonymized crash data to maintain app stability.
We generate an internal user ID to manage your account, subscriptions, and content access. We do not collect your device advertising identifier (IDFA).
We use select third-party services to operate the App. Each processes data according to their own privacy policies, linked below.
| Service | Purpose | Policy |
|---|---|---|
| Firebase (Google) | User authentication, database (Firestore), crash reporting | View |
| RevenueCat | Subscription management and in-app purchases | View |
| Groq | AI-powered devotional chat and prayer generation | View |
| Apple Screen Time API | App blocking (opaque tokens only — no app identities shared with us) | View |
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. We share data only as described in Section 5 (with service providers necessary to run the App) or as required by law.
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time (see Section 9). Anonymous, aggregated analytics data may be retained indefinitely.
We implement industry-standard technical and organizational security measures to protect your data, including:
No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data.
You may access and update your account information directly in the App's Settings.
You may request complete deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by visiting our Data Deletion page or emailing support@faithlock.app. We will process your request within 30 days.
You may disable push notifications at any time through your device's Settings > Notifications > FaithLock.
You may revoke FaithLock's Screen Time permissions at any time via Settings > Screen Time. Revoking access will immediately remove all app shields managed by FaithLock.
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, contact support@faithlock.app.
If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, and port your data. Our legal basis for processing is your consent (onboarding) and contract performance (account and subscription). Contact us at support@faithlock.app to exercise these rights.
FaithLock is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately so we can delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via push notification or in-app alert. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
